Bòrd na Gàidhlig represents Gaelic at council summit

Bòrd na Gàidhlig will represent the Gaelic language and culture in Scotland at a conference on language transmission in the family, on Thursday 26th October, ahead of a meeting of the British – Irish Council which will take place on Friday 27th October.

Bòrd na Gàidhlig issues first formal notices under Gaelic Language Act

Bòrd na Gàidhlig has today issued formal notice under Section 3 of the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005 to six public authorities, requiring them to work with the Bòrd to prepare and implement Gaelic Language Plans.

Highland bookstart babies get boost from Gaelic Gruffalo

Bi-lingual babies and toddlers in the Highlands will have a treat in store today, National Bookstart Day,  when The Highland Council introduces “An Gruffalo” - the Gaelic version of the acclaimed Gruffalo book written by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
