| 25 An Giblean 2008 The Gaelic development agency, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, has welcomed the introduction of a Bill by the Scottish Government to help boost the creative industries in Creative The promotion of Gaelic in the arts and culture is identified as a priority area in The National Plan for Gaelic. Writing the organisation’s response to the Creative Scotland Bill consultation, Bòrd na Gàidhlig Chief Executive, Kenneth Murray said: “The arts and culture have tremendous potential for extending the appeal of Gaelic and strengthening loyalty to the language. “This is a key target for us and, as such, is outlined in The National Plan. “The Bòrd looks forward to working with Creative Scotland to build on the strong legacy of its predecessors in increasing the use and understanding of the Gaelic arts and culture and meeting our National Plan goals.” NOTES FOR EDITORS
